About Me:

Grew up between East Los Angeles and the burbs. Eventually undergraduate studies brought me to Detroit, Michigan. Originally a Fine Arts Major with a minor in Art Therapy, I was a Museum Educator for 4 years in Detroit. After 10 years of residence, 9/11 and pending Bush-enomics bound to kick in, I decided to move back to California where I am currently a medical photographer. I do miss working as an art instructor. There's nothing like the exchange of energies that happens between people and more importantly people and media. It's an inner dialogue!!! Plan on getting back into teaching Art. Art History sounds appealing…hmm…
Since i've moved back out West I have been so taken by the landscape that I've become quite the outdoor person. Into re-creation= mountain biking, snowboarding, fuuutbol(Soccer) good times…good times…Into reading, going to art openings, moments with media(the brush), the camera and good movies. I'm a bit of a music geek. Like all kinds, from Detroit Techno, House to Folk, to UK soul, Old skool funk (Lot of UK music), to Jazz (Love Alice Coltrane) i don't watch television so I know nothing about current mainstream shows. So if I'm not outdoors or with headphones on you'll find me reading a book or painting. I do like going to see good flicks.
I've always been curious about other cultures. As I've matured I have found that cultures have much more in common than leaders and governments would like us to think. It's this perpetual “race” that has us stepping on and turning against each other, ultimately doing a great dis-service to ourselves and the world. There's a lot of unlearning and re-focusing that needs to take place. The need for growth and change has never been more vital. I am confident the times are shifting and we as a whole are at a crossroads where positive change is attainable. Life shows us those signs if we use our senses and are open. Loving yourself and being mindful of others can affect the descions you make that impact- locally and globally. As a result, I've become quite fond of peacefully protesting the Bush administration. ;p
